The Policy
AMA’s International Cooperation

Minister Niki Berlakovich

Director General Günter Griesmayr
Our policy approach has become a role model for many European countries, not only for EU Member States but also for many countries who are working hard to set up the necessary administrative framework to join the EU one day. Our aim is to strongly support these future member states in particular with technical support on an expert level.
For this reason, in 2003 the implementation body of the Ministry, Agrarmarkt Austria (AMA) – the Austrian Paying Agency for Agriculture and Rural Development – established a Department for International Cooperation (IC-AMA) to systematically offer advice and support to candidate and potential candidate countries during their process of accession to the European Union.
AMA is a modern and efficient public administration with 17 years of experience, responsible for the implementation of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) of the EU in Austria.
The department for AMA’s international cooperation not only offers all the expertise of the Austrian Agricultural and Rural Development administration, but also organizes a range of workshops, seminars, Twinning and knowledge exchange projects.
We encourage you to find out through this website the ways in which Austria can offer support to your country with respect to Agricultural and Rural Development administration.
Yours sincerely,
Niki Berlakovich
Minister for Agriculture and Forestry, Environment and Water Management and Günter Griesmayr
Director General of Agrarmarkt Austria, the Austrian Paying Agency for Agriculture and Rural Development
