AMA signs cooperation agreement with the Moldavian Paying Agency AIPA

A Moldavian delegation from the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry and the Paying Agency of Moldova visited AMA today. As the vice Minister of the Ministry, Mr Viorel Gutu explained, “Moldova today invests a lot in capacity building” and the new Paying Agency, which was actually established 3 years ago, is a result of it.

The Director General of the Moldavian Paying Agency, Mr Petru Maleru pointed out that the agency has made its first steps, that software for payment administration has been established and new measures should be implemented according to European standards. The agency currently exists of 70 staff, thereof about the half works in the main office, while the other half is located in 9 regional offices responsible for on-the-spot control. Moldova is also looking forward to the challenge of IPARD, which is planned to start in about one and a half years.

The directors of the both Paying Agencies AMA and AIPA, Mr Günter Griesmayr and Mr Petro Maleru finally signed a Cooperation Agreement aiming to exchange know how and to technically support the Moldavian Paying Agency with AMA’s long experience in the implementation, monitoring and control of agricultural support measures.
