Expert visit from the Agricultural and Rural Development Agency ARDSI from Turkey on 24 March 2014

7 experts from the contracting department from the Agricultural and Rural Development Agency (ARDSI) visited the Austrian Chamber of Agriculture in Tulln in order to exchange their experience and to discuss topics related to the implementation and administration of Rural Development measures in Austria.

The main objective was to discuss the application procedure for investment measures for agricultural holdings and processing establishments for the meat and dairy sector. The Turkish experts received a detailed explanation about the database used by the Agricultural Chamber and its interconnection with the Austrian Paying Agency AMA.

The Turkish experts showed particular interest for the advisory function and the organisation of trainings organised by the regional Chamber to support Austrian farmers.

A visit to the dairy production NÖM AG in Baden was organised in the afternoon. The supply chain manager gave an overview from the collection of the milk from the farmers, the production and the logistic. He emphasised on the importance producing high quality products and informed about the investments in the production line within the last years.
